Housing First: Stop encampment clear outs on federal land
Members of Canadian Parliament
In the last year, the number of people forced to live in tents in Toronto doubled.
Tent encampments are a symptom of just how broken our housing system is. As cost of living skyrockets, and key social services and mental health supports buckle due to the pressures of underfunding – more and more people are being forced to live in tents pitched in public places – because they have nowhere else to sleep.
Add your name to support Bill C-398 - to stop cruel encampment clearouts and ensure that the federal government works with the provincial and local governments, and encampment residents, for alternatives that ensure everyone has a safe and secure place to live.
